To master Divine Discernment, you must let go of all “you think” you know...
Once you have made up your mind you have narrowed your mind. You can’t see the forest for the trees. You have blocked your peripheral vision. Much like a horse with blinders, you cannot see the “Big Picture”. The mind will not allow it.
I’m reminded of the time not so long ago when I locked my keys in my car, or so I thought. I called AAA and a super nice guy showed up to unlock my car. Low and behold, my keys were not there. I dumped the entire contents of my purse out on the pavement, and guess what? They were in my purse all along! Even though I had searched through my purse several times, I could not see them. Why? I had already made up my mind they were in the car. I narrowed my field of vision.
When working with clients and asking questions of Spirit, I may expect a certain answer based on experience, but I don’t let “what I think” get in the way. I stay curious and open to receiving whatever Spirit wants me to know. Often, I’m completely surprised by the answers I receive. This is the key to Divine Discernment. It’s easy for me to stay curious and open. I’ve had years of experience working “blindly” with people remotely. If I don’t know anything, there is nothing in my head to get in the way. Anyone can hone this skill by practicing the repetitive exercises I share in “A Course in Discernment” workshop.
Sometimes it is hard to be completely open and neutral, especially when you are emotionally charged or attached; for instance, when it comes to your health and well-being or the health and well-being of a loved one. You have “skin in the game”. It is still possible, however. You may say before you ask Spirit for guidance in this situation, “I don’t care what the answer is, I just want to know the Truth or what is for Highest Best”.
You have the capacity to receive information beyond this world, from Higher Dimensions. You have the capacity to see a bigger picture. You have the capacity to tap into the Source of ALL knowledge. Most of you already know this from your own experience. Still, it’s easy to get sucked in by what others believe is true for several reasons stated below…
When you open yourself up to your Source for guidance and learn to trust it, you will never have to rely on what you see or hear to discern Truth (almost impossible now). Or, spend your time and energy doing tons of research to try to get to the Truth (also not a reliable method anymore). This is True Freedom!
FREEDOM FROM THE HUMAN MIND THAT KEEPS US IN A BIND!
As you embark on this journey into Divine Discernment, it is important to leave judgement behind. Judgment buries Truth. It drastically reduces our field of vision. Truthfully, how can we judge anything if we do not know how anything will turn out in ALL of space and time? We can see in our own lives, how something that looked terrible at the time ended up be the biggest blessing. I love this saying, “Everything works out in the end. If it hasn’t worked out, it is not the end.”
Can you be absolutely certain that what you are witnessing IS or IS NOT for Highest Best Good? GOD KNOWS what we could not possibly know from our limited human perspective.
We must be willing to change our mind as we open ourselves up to our God’s Mind. This is our greatest obstacle to growth and freedom individually and collectively.
Because we are ONE, as we change our mind, others have an opportunity to change theirs. No convincing is necessary. However, if someone is open, what you are “guided” to say may help break them out of the prison of their mind. This is how collective change happens…one mind at a time. It may seem like change is happening out there. When in reality, change is happening within and being extended “out there”.
I’m reminded of how inspiration works. I read this somewhere, however, the name is not coming to me right now. I get it’s True. You may have an “inspired idea”, something “you” didn’t think of. The thought just arrived. You have a choice of whether to act on this idea or not. However, the idea has been birthed. If you don’t act on it, someone will. Our thoughts are “Out There”. Even the inspired ones. So are our feelings…
Emotions can be polarizing. They can drag us around and attach us to belief systems. When enough people feel a certain way, an energetic morphic field is created. When created, it acts like a magnet, pulling others that are also emotionally charged the same way into the field. Morphic fields based in Love/Truth are beneficial. You might think of a fun “Flash Mob”. Those based in untruth/fear is how violent, destructive riots are created.
Sometimes our thoughts and feelings don’t even belong to us. For gifted empaths, it’s easy to absorb the energy of thoughts and emotions from others and get pulled into morphic fields. These gifted beings must learn how to protect their energy fields while they help others heal.
Some rely on how they feel emotionally to make a decision. This is not the same as your “gut feeling” or intuition. And it is not reliable and not what they are for. Our emotional reactions could have nothing to do with what is front of us. You could be reacting to a painful experience from the past. A sore spot that the present experience is rubbing against. For instance, maybe you grew up in lack. What you are hearing is provoking the fear of more lack. Your “EGO” guidance will help you make a “fear-based” choice. TRUTH will not argue with you. You have been given the FREE WILL to choose fear.
Thinking and remembering are one in the same and are based in past experience.
You must leave the past behind and move into the peaceful present to discern TRUTH.
The primary roles of emotions are to allow us to experience the richness of life AND to let us know when what “we are thinking” consciously or unconsciously is in alignment with Love or fear. You will know by how you feel. Are you afraid, stressed, depressed? Or, are you joyful, peaceful, grateful, and at ease?
Staying neutral and completely objective is the key to being a pure channel for Divine Discernment. Easier said than done...right? Even while you are working on processing hurts from the past, and bringing all unconscious thinking into the present, there is still a way to tap into TRUTH.
Our ego mind, in it’s over zealous attempt to protect us, hijacks all common sense when it is constantly fed fear. Breathe… Step outside of the ego-mind and the world. Leave the prison of your mind behind as you remember your natural way of knowing and being…
Another “Course in Discernment” workshop is coming in February 2025. This will be an in-person and live Zoom workshop. To learn more, click here.
